A tragic shooting near the grand opening of The Marathon Burger in Long Beach has left one person dead and two others injured.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of Pine Avenue near the Pine Square shopping center. Three victims were transported to a hospital, and one later succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities are continuing to investigate what led to the shooting and whether any suspects are in custody. The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
